Europe : Prix Golden Boy 2023: la liste dévoilée

Le quotidien sportif italien Tuttosport a dévoilé mardi les 100 joueurs de moins de 21 ans en lice pour le prix du Golden Boy 2023 récompensant le meilleur jeune évoluant en Europe cette année. Quatre Africains sont nommés aux côtés du Marocain Bilal El Khannous (Genk, Belgique).

Quelques semaines après sa nomination pour le Soulier d’Ébène (meilleur joueur d’origine africaine de la saison en Belgique), Bilal El Khannous est candidat pour le prix du Golden Boy. Le milieu offensif marocain (19 ans, 3 sélections) est classé 42e sur les 100 noms dévoilés par Tuttosport. Crédité de la note de 69,8/100 au Golden Boy Index (fruit de la nouvelle collaboration entre le journal et Football BenchMark), le Mondialiste 2022 devance le défenseur ivoirien du Sporting Lisbonne Ousmane Diomandé (94e, 62,5) et l’ailier ghanéen Christopher Bonsu Baah de Sarpsborg (59e, 66,6). En revanche, il arrive derrière l’ailier ghanéen Ernest Nuamah (26e, 74,6) de Nordsjaelland et le milieu central ivoirien Amane Romeo (41e, 69,9), pensionnaire du BK Häcken. A l’instar des Franco-Sénégalais Habib Diarra (Strasbourg) et Andy Diouf (Bâle), cette liste comprend aussi plusieurs binationaux qui pourraient représenter une sélection africaine à l’avenir.

Les 20 finalistes seront connus en octobre. Lauréat l’année dernière, l’Espagnol Gavi (Barça) est en bonne position pour se succéder à lui-même (3e, 93). Il suit de près les immenses favoris, l’Allemand Jamal Musiala du Bayern Munich (1er, 98,3) et le milieu de terrain anglais Jude Bellingham, tout juste transféré au Real Madrid après une nouvelle saison de haut vol avec le Borussia Dortmund (2e, 95).
